Where can I get seats like these? I've seen this design several times, albeit different colors. Are they custom or can be ordered "off the shelf"? In either case, some guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Company responsible for that gray RSR backdate. I believe they are associated with DP Motorsport.

+1 That's correct.

The same company this backdated the first car on this thread also. Fun to look at the differences.

Since this is specific to a long hood conversation, i thought i would mention this here.

I purchased some Singer body panel recreations from F-S-H in Germany to do a Singer backdate. Since then, I have decided to go in a different direction and will sell the body panels.

These parts are not available in the US and are a spot on copy of the Singer body panels. The rear wing has the correct duck tail lip and the front bumper has the correct center cut out. They have never been fitted or cut on. There is some minor damage from shipping from Germany. They are being sold on Ebay. Sold as a complete set only $4500.00 plus shipping.

Honestly... Singer has the best fender profile I've seen for early cars. 930 flares take a lot of work to look as good and most aftermarket flares are based off of those I believe. Not surprised if someone were to make replicas of those that there would be a market. The above decklid has been copied plenty of times to varying degrees of success. That is however the first time I've seen their front bumper with the chin spoiler and grill layout copied so specifically. I personally wouldn't try to replicate a Singer, but I wouldn't mind having their fender profile on a RSR backdate.

??????

In what way do 930 flairs take so much work to look good? I have seen a lot of backdates I would take over a singer all day long. Many have been posted in his thread. My biggest issue with the singer is the side profile and front bumper/valance which looks all wrong way to fat and bloated sides and skinny front looks wrong to my eyes. The front and rear bumper offers no impact protection which I have a huge problem with.

930 flares have a significantly different profile from Singer, which are closer to the early RSR flare profile. "Good" was probably a poor choice of words. What I was trying to convey was that I prefer the Singer profile, which is more accurate for a longhood backdate, rather than the 930 profile. In my opinion, "correctness" aside, the 930 profile is not as appealing on a longhooded car.

If you don't like the way Singer looks, then I'm not sure what to tell you. That puts you in the very small minority and I guess we can just agree to disagree. But you are correct, plenty of good looking backdates using the 930 profile. For me though, if I had the option of the flatter RSR/Singer style flare, I'd go that route.

I do see some of the 74 3.0RS profile to the singer but it is not quite the same. I owned a 74 3.0RS clone that used all factory parts for 19 years I am quite familiar with the differences and I agree it was a nice look.

I have seen a number of Singers in person. I could easily make 930 flairs work. All I would need is a templet. I have access to a singer if I wanted to do it. It isn't the flairs I have an issue with. It is the sides and the extra distance between the bottom of the door and the bottom of the car and the front bumper needs to come down a bit further in my opinion.

A 74 they are essentially the same and I can't find the pics of my friends 73 RSR which is similar but as I said there is a difference. Give me the 74 3.0 any day but that is me. I would be happy to buy a singer if he just built a 964 3.8RS clone with all carbon fiber, engine, suspension etc. I could care less about the backdate. It is still a 964 when the day is done.

The biggest difference between both fenders seems to be the outer fender lip. Singer's fender has a sharp transition and square profile, while all of Porsche's fenders seem to have the softer transition and round profile.
