Default Losing power sometimes. NOT DME relay

Hey all. I am baffled. I figured my dme relay was bad, replaced it and didn't help. Got worse today 20 min after I replaced it. I was driving in the last week a few times and lost power for 20 sec, and car would still idle but giving it gas did not help, then it would just fix itself. It is a 90' c2 cab. Today, it cut out getting on the Mass pike. same deal, this time at high rms, and would idle, but die if I gave it gas. Tried restrting it and same thing about 4 times. I finally held the pedal down to floor and fired it up and instantly reved it right up and it was fine for whole 200 mile round trip. I went to replace the coils and ignitor things a few months ago, and it would not run on just one of the new coils, so I gave up and put back in the old black coils, and threw the new bosch brazilian coils on the shelf. I am leaning towards the coils finally giving up. could it be a dying fuel pump? I even swapped mass air flow flapper a month ago and i dont think that was it. like I said it has been getting worse in the last week, but was fine today after 200 miles. Even hit 110 mph a couple times without really noticing. Any ideas? I need to stop throwing dollars at problems and do more thinking..

Thanks.

i had a similar problem and it was the solder joints on the DME board.

my solution to fix:
- remove DME and open
- take circuit boards to local TV repair guy
- ask him to check solder joints
- paid $20 and all was perfect

just a suggestion anyway!? good luck.

do you have a friend where you can try another DME?

Have you checked for any error codes? The fault sounds like an electrical problem since its intermittent.

Dme cracks scare me. How much of a bitch is it to remove? do I have to remove the seat? and how much for a new dme or repair the old?
Rob, you mentioned earlier you can read codes? Maybe I should take you up on your offer and swing over and get some codes!

Thanks.

If you slide the seat all the way back, and then fully forward you can remove the bolts and DME umit without removing the seat.
