Tyres, AD08

Bought a pair of AD08,s for the front of my car, there supposed to be brill?

The current fronts are Bridgsteone Re070 that i bought used, mainly to check that the 225-45 will fit, there a little old and worn. Dont inspire confidence to there mega warm and have a very hard sidewall that transmits every bump into the stearing wheel.

So after a load of research went for the Yoko,s.

Time will tell?

What are you running in the rear? I'd be really careful mixing those sticky tires on the front w/ some lesser tires on the rear.

My buddy runs these tires on his RUF inspired twin plug Carrera...they work great! Are you running these on the rear as well?

oh nice ... will be interested to hear updates on tyre life! .. my guess is 3 track days & road 8000kms.

Babalouie 08-02-2012 12:35 AM

I have a set of those on my car, and I reckon they're great! I wouldn't say that that are in the same league as a super-sticky track-only tyre, but they are definitely a superior road tyre.

Wear after 8000km and one trackday, there is 6mm of tread depth left, so I think they would be good for 20,000kms and say 4 trackdays before they are replaced.

DO NOT MIX TIRES!!

I have a set of the Yoko's AD08's on my Turbo right now. They are excellent tires. Turn-in is amazing and spot-on. Grip at apex and throttle is awesome.

Currently running Bridgestone s02 on the rear.
Cant fault them, there a very good road tyre, never had any issues with em apart from overheating on a track day last year.

So iam not to use the Ad08s with the S02,s ????

Correct. Best performance. Best safety.

Babalouie 08-02-2012 08:15 PM

IMHO, the AD08s are so superior to the Pilot Sports that they replaced (on my car), that just having AD08s at the front would be a pretty noticeable handling imbalance.

No HTWo O...your red paint is be u tee full!!
Always use a matched set.
If you want to know how important tires are...watch F1!

Ok then new rears as well.
Found a very cheap supplier so will order the rears tommoz, my missus will kill me for spending all this money!

Laguna Seca 08-04-2012 12:52 AM

You will be very happy with this set up!
My advice is simple...get it over with...let the misses kill you...remember, she can't kill you twice! Then get on with it! Good luck!

Babalouie 08-04-2012 01:55 AM

Yes, it's like ripping off a band-aid. Best to get it over and done with in one go
