Rennlist North Wales Run. Sunday August 26th 2012
#16
If by some stretch of imagination my car will be ready I will join up. However engine builders are like bodyshops. The time period they quote doesnt allow for the days when they are doing something else, or waiting for parts, or weekends, (or weekdays, come to that!)
Hope the weather is fine for you all.

I've taken the CSL to the last few, and I'm pretty sure I took the GT3..may even have taken the Smart Roadster on one...

I still won't make my first N. Wales run it seems. I've agreed to take part in a local mini-car show for a charity event, so am now busy on the afternoon of the 26th.
Maybe next time!

While it is the bank holiday weekend, and with some new faces along, I have gone for a very simple route this time. You might like to make a note just in case we get separated or you might want to just go at your own pace rather than hang onto the tails of those who know the roads well.
1. Meet at the Esso petrol station at the very edge of Ruthin, on Denbigh Road right next to a small roundabout on the A525. Once in Ruthin, just follow the signs to Denbigh and you will come to the petrol station which will be on your left. Be here for around 11.00 and we will aim to head off about 11.30.
2. Take the A525 to Denbigh, then follow signs to Pentrefoelas, which will lead you onto the wonderful A543. I might go here in advance to take Paula to the toilet at the Morrisons.
3. Regroup at the car park, coffee shop and toilet in Petrefoelas.
4. Leaving the car park, turn right on the A5, and continue for about 5miles to the left turn into Cerrigydrudion. Turn left again immediately onto the B4501 and continue on this past Llyn Brenig all the way to the T-junction where it meets the A543.
5. Turn left to head back towards Pentrefoelas, but after about 2.5miles take the tiny right turn to head past the Llyn Aled reservoir. Continue past this until you reach the next reservoir, Llyn Aled Isaf, where we will have lunch. Make sure you bring something to eat! :-)
After lunch, those who have more time to spend can join us on the Southern Loop, south of Pentrefoelas, where there are one or two promising roads that I would like to investigate, as well as a few absolute crackers that we already know well.

Be aware that there will probably be speed cameras and police about. There are plenty of areas where you can see there are none, but be sensible especially where you cannot be certain, and in particular on the A5 and near Pentrefoelas. Don't spoil your day with a ticket. Watch for unmarked cars and bikes too. If you have not been before, do not let this advice put you off - you will find there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy yourself.
Finally, if you just want to come along and enjoy a more relaxing type of drive, that is absolutely fine. Just be sure that you have your directions to hand. The day is not about having to go at anyone else's pace. It is about having the chance to enjoy yourself in your 964 and with some great, very friendly people.
