Gus, the kit worked very nice and I'm no tint professional. When I bought my C2, one of the previous owners had welded up a horrible dual exhaust without a muffler and cut out the left side. I wanted to put the original exhaust back on, but couldn't with the left side cut out. I had 2 options, buy a B&B/Fabspeed dual outlet exhaust or try to find a used rear bumper and paint it. I chose the Fabspeed dual outlet maxflo muffler. It's really loud, but my car has no low end power, I can't even break the rear tires loose. I've included a photo of the old junk exhaust and one of the Fabspeed.

Chris - That modified cross over pipe must have been really loud - no muffler at all???- Now, is everything before the muffler connection stock ?/ Do you have a CAT by-pass? I have switch to BB headers and noticed a very strong increase in low end torque - but I also linked with several other mods, but I installed the headers last and the change was noticeable. The torque increase has to be in the design of the headers based on what I have read from Colins comments on the headers he was designing. I have the BB muffler, similar to the Fabspeed, but with only one outlet - I want to change to 2 outlets - but I do not want to cut the body work and (like you)have search in vane for the left side lower cut out section.
The BB headers have to be the worse designed headers when it comes to installing I have seen, it is all because of the heater box design on the header pipes doesn't allow access to the exhaust studs - bolting them up is is just short of having a hernia operation - as you can't get to the studs to install the nuts with out making your own tools and using a little magical pixie dust. I don't know if they have changed the design any on newer models as I got my headers second hand. I hope so.

I have a stock Cat and heat exchangers. I guess I need to buy a used left bumper and put the stock exhaust back on. What's the point of have a good sounding exhaust, if your car has less power?

Good deal on the guard reds left bumper cover ?/ Don't know if I would have done the primary - think I would have gone for the secondary, but - at least get a cat by-pass pipe - then go for a Steve Wong chip - tell him what you have done - he will burn on for your car.

I got a real good deal on a bumper cover on ebay for '79 painted with a few scratches. When I bought my car, it came with primary and secondary mufflers. The primary was butchered for the flange to make that straight exhaust. I can put a bypass later. My buddy at work has an alpine white C2 that is stock and I think it has a lot more low end torque than my car. I have a SW chip already. My car runs strong at high speed, but struggles with AC on in city driving. My 944 turbo should be pretty fast once I get this motor back in.

Hi Gus,

Are you still doing the tail light tinting kit?

If so, please reply with details of how to pay etc. I am in the UK.

Kind regards, Guy.

Hey guys, about two years ago I hit up Gus in a PM. He still had the kits (or made one for me) and sent it right out. I was pretty nervous about screwing up the install. It was about as difficult or easy as I expected and overall went well. Film hasn't move or peeled at all. still looks great and I am very happy with it.
