When changing the 39k ohm resistor to a 24k ohm one is a '24k ohm 1/4W 250v' resistor the correct one to get?

Any axial lead 1/4W or 1/8 watt resistor , +/- 5% tolerance would fit....the cheap resistor pack o' five at radio shack would work.

Hi Guys,
Please someone can explain me what I did wrong, I have a 1990 C2 the spoiler module is under the passenger seat, and I swap the 39K resistor with a 24K resistor and the spoiler now open at 22 miles, actually the opposite of what I want.

Did you check the resistance? That looks like a 24Ohm not 24k. Color should be Red/Yellow/Orange/Red

That's what I thought at first, so I went back to the place who sell me the resistor and ask them to recheck and they told it was the right one, I am not an expert in the subject, so probably you are right. Thanks

Yes I would say your resistor is suspect...measure it on a volt ohm meter if you have one.

I measure the resistor and it shows 23.76 K ohm?, and the original resistor measure 37.80 K ohm, It look like the same scale to me.

"I measure the resistor and it shows 23.76 K ohm?"

The resistor is a 2% resistor (the right red band), so the value
is read from the left as; 2, 4, 0, and 2 zeros (multiplier - 100) followed
by the 2 percent tolerance. That resistor because it's a 2% has three
significant digits versus two for a 5/10% resistor plus the multiplier.

So the resistor has the correct value. It's actually within 1% of its value.

That is the problem, if is the correct value for this modification, why is not working right?, I want my spoiler to raise around 70 MPH.

If I recall correctly if you remove the 39K resistor, the spoiler extends around 20mph.
It would seem you might have a bad solder joint or a solder bridge. Look at you circuit carefully, and check your connections with your meter.

Finally is working as it should, solder bridge was the subject, thank you again.
