Thought I'd share this vid from a recent run...

Climb to the top in my C2;

You'll hear the car struggle in 3rd (because altitude), so I tried keeping it balanced in 2nd while keeping an eye on the redline. GoPro's battery was flat, so this was done with a hand-held Canon. Thumbs up to my mate in the passenger seat for keeping the camera steady.

The road;

Click the link below if you'd like to see a huge panoramic photo of the pass (taken with the same camera) -

Bit far for a Sunday breakfast run, unfortunately. But there are other roads we get to play on around here. This was the 2nd time I actually tackled this road in anger, the first time was roughly ten years ago on a superbike. The road surface has deteriorated significantly since then, sadly. But still not too bad, as you can see from the vid.

The starship gadget is a radar/laser detector. Not really needed in Lesotho, but it has saved my *** a couple of times in & around DBN. Gotta be quick on the brake pedal when the alarm goes though...

You ready for the 2013 Porsche Parade in CT? Lots of DBN guys are going, I won't, business priorities & whatnot...

Was impressed by the road, but their low rains might explain despite the snow in winter..
Better than Franchoek for sure .... Talking about hill climbs, we have one at the parade this year ... Faultless (new and used and private road!) tar, climbs hundreds of meters, about as risky as yours but no traffic... Details on the SA RL thread ... Sorry you won't be down! we're almost twins

Yeah I really miss CT & Killarney. Last time I did Killarney was a few years ago, most memorable, got to share KR's white '73 RSR & DF's yellow grp4 '74 RSR. Some really fantastic races over two days...

Here's a few clean laps I managed in K's car from January this year at Zwartkops, not a 964 but close enough...

LoL - you can see it dont rain up there much Piere

here's a couple laps before I got black flagged in the last session
I tapped off the first few times past the sound guy but once I felt the
brakes softening and the session coming to an end I just kept it going ... bingo

Hand keeps going to the gearshift as in the cup the shifts are so different ... next time I'll use 3rd much more!

This is a car ad, but the car has long since been sold.
Even though you have to take his comments with a grain of salt (since he is trying to sell the car), I like his enthusiasm for the 964.
