You guys are right.

It looks like billet is the way to go. What are the options out there for billet pieces?

Mine look the same way. Magnesium doesn't last. I ended up buying a used set of aluminum later model ones from LA Dismantlers.

Check with Steve W. at Rennsport. He has a nice set of billet ones. Don't forget the "Valve Adjustment" gasket kit (available locally or maybe Pelican) that has all the new O-rings and new lock nuts and aluminum washers.

You'll be so psyched by the way it looks you won't even remember the additional cost... ;-)

fwiw - I just went through the same with mine. ended up buying the hargett covers - had a couple of issues with them that were overcome pretty easily - we tapped the bottom covers to accept the clips, and the connectors which I thought werent fitting right, ended up fitting ok. And then we shot them with a little satin black paint for corrosion protection and done.

If money weren't an option, I would have bought the eagle day covers. But for the price, the Hargetts were a good option. make sure you file off the sharp edges, or you will bleed. Those of you with Hargett covers will understand....lol...
