Lol yeah looks like a good chance of rain at some point in the day.
Flushed the brakes and changed the oil, couple of hundred motorway miles shake down for the new wheels and tyres. No sign of rubbing anywhere, slight burning rubber smell which cant be good but meh you cant have everything.
I'm booked in at the Premier Inn on Friday night too, so see you chaps there. I've got a work meeting in Rugby and then heading up from there in the afternoon.

Nah...it won't rain but if it does we can shelter in our garages.
Speaking of which, I've booked #20 and Kevin #21. All the 964 contingent can put they're odds and sods in those.....just leave some room for our cars

I'll try and get away at 3:30, and having gone home and changed (inc car) I should be over by 6'ish!

Sorry I cannot join you, hope you have fun and the weather is kind. I have a room booked at the Premier Inn on Friday up for grabs if anyone has any need for it?

Just checked on the garages again and Les has booked #19. So with 19,20 and 21 we have a good focus point for all the 964s.
Also, 18 and 22 are empty at the moment, so if not booked by the day we could grab those aswell (unbooked garages on the day are free).

Being as how I love abit of last minute pre track day drama, I decided that the rubber smell must be the left rear tyre getting toasted by exhaust, and that I'd fractionally overfilled the oil.
Only had this evening to get both sorted. Gulp. The oil situation quickly solved with a 1 metre length of 3mm hose amd my hand vacume pump, sucked about 600ml out the dip stick hole, bosh sorted. Then as the light started to fade I managed to throw together a heat shield for the cat, with some ally I had lying around and some sticky backed tin/mat heat shield left over from a job many years ago on the skyline. A 20min thrash on the nearby dual carriageway and the lack of burning rubber smell and the old infrared thermometer confirms job done. Phew . . . and breath.
