Default Best Engine Lid Shock Replacement (RSA Setup)

Would running turbo engine lid shocks be sufficicent on my 90 C2...The stock 5 year old lid shocks are not holding up the O.E.M RSA wing and decklid. I know it is not going to be fun to replace those as the room is very tight.

I saw the write up on the engine lid shock replacement, but I want to stay away from adding dual shocks to one side (want it looking original).....I think the turbo lid shocks should be strong enough or is it over kill?

Per PET, the RSA gets the normal C2/C4 shock. (911.512.331.01) The turbo gets an .02 version.
It is not that hard to do, so long as you don't have huge hands and poor fine motor skills.

Fresh shocks do a nice job at keeping the lid in place. I run the turbo tail on my car, and have replaced the shocks. The hard part is not dropping the clip into the engine bay.

I just replaced mine. The originals were shot. Now my deck lid flies open with such violent force I think its going to tear right off the car! I would think it would easily hold up your wing.

You have to take the fan blower motor off on the driver side to get to the back shock mount. Place a rag in the big heater hole after you remove the duct so you don't accidentally drop the clip down there.
