Well, Porsche related we're going to a holiday party tomorrow night with some Porsche group friends. Not taking the car though, as it's still not running. This is a crazy busy month for me, with little time behind the camera or the wrench.

I did pull window switches last week, and sent those off to a new RL member. I'm sure he'll use them in good health :) sounds like he's putting together a Porsche piece by piece ;) Not much else. got to order a few parts to resolve my battery drain- or at least attempt to solve that issue. I'm sure not running the car isn't helping the battery.

so what about you? got plans for the weekend?

Just unloaded the engine from my SUV. Had it at a fellow P-car enthusiast's garage where we did rings and the whole top-end.

Now, it's mounting the "accessories" and reinstalling it! Maybe it will be done before the New Year!

Hawk - Do you have a battery maintainer? If not, I would get one. It will prevent the drain from killing your battery.

My weekend will be spent changing the oil in my Volvo wagon, hanging Christmas lights on the trees in the yard. The weather is turning cold (near freezing), I've been driving my winter car and put the 964 on battery maintainer. I suspect this is the end of my driving season. :( I will need to prep the car for storage.

If I have time, I will also try to plan installing a generator transfer switch. I need to map out what circuits I need to power via the generator. I'm suspect I will be using it a lot this winter. We've lost power twice so far. One for 5 1/2 days and another for 3-4 hours. The first was a freak snow storm and the second was strong winds. Sheesh! I live in a neighborhood with underground utilities but the utilities leading to the neighborhood are on poles, therefore susceptible to weather.

Lastly, I will be helping my GF prep for her parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I volunteered to assemble a photo slide show. She's scanned the photos. I'm assembling them in PowerPoint so they can automatically show in the background of the party. We will be borrowing a projector from her office. She has 375 photos so far. Its a bit overwhelming. I've been doing 50 or so each night.

Rob, I do have a maintainer. I'm going to throw it on now. Just skipped my priority list so far.

UPS should deliver a little batch of parts for me today to put all the engine parts back on after my valve job. The long exhaust clamp nuts & bolts and the spark plug clips. Next step on my car is to do all the hydraulic bleeding, brakes, locks, accumulator, clutch etc. Then finally the power steering fluid as well. Things are going slow but I am enjoying myself. Getting that valve adjustment done was a real milestone for me. Glad that's done.

Got my car back from the body shop with that spot of rust expertly repaired (I'll post pictures this weekend) and I got it back up on my lift and prepped for a little more surface touch-ups in hidden areas with the POR-15.

Hopefully, I'll get the cleaning and touchups done soon so I can get back to the mechanical stuff - cleaning it is boring!

Mark - I agree. I would much rather be doing the mechanical stuff. But I do enjoy having things clean.

We're carless here in Bugtussle as Claudia was packed up and is in transport off to Oregon for a diet and facelift.

Off to the track tmrw with a few students, should be fun.

Christmas sprit growing daily here in rural Oklahoma, life is good and horseradish gets harvested and processed this eve...might be a great excuse for a 8lb prime rib roast soon, huh?
