RS rear bumper center. Worth it, aesthetically?

Basically this

vs
what I currently have (my car's rear is just like this)

I'd be going with this replica piece
http://www.rennspd.com/P_Detail.asp?PID=426&Task=STD

and i'm not sure if i'd need additional parts, not sure if the license plate lights transfer over directly or I need a different type.

Lights are completely different, using the same fittings as a 3.2 Carrera

I may be one of the few but I actually think the C2/C4 version looks much better. It's smoother and "holds" the horizontal line better on the bumper. the RS version also looks bigger with the two bumps och each side.

FWIW, I'm with Thomas...

I like the RS centre section, I think the stock piece is a little too smooth, and it looks better with a bit of roughness :D

I allso like the rs style.

I fitted 1 to mine.

+1 for RS - style. It love the back side of my car much more than the stock look of my fathers 964... :D

One vote for the RS from here:

I don't get it. The RS version was designed to accommodate a european license plate. It's not a performance part. Unless you plan to ship the car back to Germany why would you go to the trouble and expense of doing this?

I fitted the RS part to mine after being rear-ended. I prefer it, however my plate is a long one, not the squarish US-Type.

Aesthetics. Although the Euro bumper beam underneath is about 3 lbs lighter, there is no performance difference otherwise.

It is the same reason that in Europe, people seem to want to remove the side markers for the "clean look" while in North America, people add them for the "Euro look" -- change for the sake of change.

My vote is for the non-RS version.

I agree... but who cares what we think. Go for it Vandit!

It's a very nice subtle homage to big brother RS. Most wouldn't even notice, and it makes for a nice conversation with those that do.

Black car is a 3.2 converted to 964 look with standard UK rear bumper

RS for me..

Just got one in the garage ready to be painted over the winter along with another corner piece to add a dual exhaust.
