Hello, I have ordered a 'key head' as my old one is worn.
Its easy to pop it in half to see the battery, etc., but my question is - how do you remove and insert the actual metal key?

It's held in place by a small metal plunger that is in turn held in place by that little spring shown in your picture at the 6 o'clock position inside the head. Just pull back that metal plunger to release/reinsert the key shaft.
