Default Engine Carrier Removal

I've been glancing around the forum for the proper procedure to remove the engine carrier. (sorry if I missed this topic being covered somewhere)

Can anyone throw some insight on how to remove this piece safely? Is it as simple as supporting the engine and undoing two bolts?

(I'd like to reinforce it before my next track day)

It's a bit more work than just two bolts. I think the A/C compressor support has to be removed in order to get the engine carrier out. I did this job a few months ago, and it was not that hard. Just a little bit time consuming...I put the car on ramps, unbolted the engine mounts and dropped the engine a few inches to get access to all of the other bolts. Good luck!

Search under my username, I made a thread asking about it just last month. You have to remove the exhaust, engine tin, and other things to get to it.

I hadn't realized it was so involved, so I ended up installing my Wevo blues only and plan on getting back in there at another time to do the carrier.

Thanks Vandit,

Strange how that post didn't show up when I searched "Engine carrier removal"

Or you could let your engine mount just break and do it for you

From memory: undertray, rear muffler, rear muffler/engine tin, oil line bolt, 4 nuts to the block, 2 nuts to the frame/mounts. the engine should be supported before the 4 nuts to the block and 2 nuts to the mounts/frame are removed.

Not a nice organized DYI, but it should help.

These folks are taking about removing the crank pulley. I hope this doesn't turn into a huge pain in the butt project.

I got mine off without removing the crank pulley. It's possible to do without removing the crank pulley...and yes, I think that could be a pain in the butt.

You certainly don't need to remove the crank pulley or the A/C bracket, sorry for the confusion.
From recollection, what mrmandmman posted sounds right. The rear bumper is pretty easy to remove and makes access easier.
