Very interesting guys
thanks for Charing
I go and check mine ASAP , I booked a track days with artificielle wet conditions with an inctructor, I hope to learn a lot from my C4 ,
in fact if I disconnect the accelerometer do I stop the system from transferring power to the front ?

yes and you lost ABS too. I completely destroyed the rear tires on the track and enjoyed every minute.

This is strictly a C4 thing.

C4 requires two sensors for lateral and axial.
C2 requires one sensor for lateral only.
I was under the impression that tiptronic cars only came in C2 flavour so would only have the one sensor?

Anyway I pulled the trigger on two of these, will install as part of my centre console delete once I've sorted my water issue!

Yes, my understanding too is that the C4 never came with Tip. Would have been an engineering feat I would have thought.

Compared to the original equipment I can feel that the ABS kicks in a little bit earlier when I break hard, especially on slippery roads. The sensor seems to be more sensitive. The lateral sensor seems to be more sensitive as well. I can feel it when I drive quickly through narrow curves. The sensor activates the axis breaking early (there is a yellow light in the center console) and as a consequence, understeering seems to be much less an issue as usually with the Carrera 4. From what I have experienced so far, it seems to be gone and driving is totally balanced (also no oversteering). I will continue to observe and confirm the experiences made so far.
Cheers
This is very interesting. And along with Goughary's observations and experiences it seems a worthwhile swap regardless (just need to find the $800 or so). Wonder if the improved ABS/axial braking is evident more so when on the track.

Tip cars have both lateral and axial sensors the trans controller uses input from them and yes all Tip cars are C2

For the comment above- yes it's very evident on the track, but really because tracks are almost always bumpy in hard braking zones...and its on bumps where it shows it's worth most clearly...

Anyway, I'm a fan.
