Well done - I am not moved by the styling however.

It's nice but just not my style. Any idea what they are priced at?

....it will probably go something like this.....a non-S Carrera will start at $80K and after adding the options you really want/need it will be at least $100K

Front and rear lights are still covered in disguise tape, etc. None of the spy shots so far show the car uncovered.

As long as they make the GT cars, I'm good with it. Since the advent of water-cooling, the base models have been kinda boring, and the GTx cars the subject of much drooling for me. I'd expect the status quo to remain.

I'd take a used Singer over a new 991 any day.

I can say that I have driven most 911 variants in the last 3 years (as well as some non 911 P-car variants) and the base models don't do it for me anymore. Ever since the 996 they don't "feel" like sports cars anymore.

There is no modern Porsche that I prefer in driving experience over the 964 (perhaps the 993 would be similar) with the exception of the 997 GT2RS - and I'm not in a position to buy one right now.

A GT3 is good fun as well... but I have yet to try the GT3RS in the driver's seat and have some hope for the 360HP 996 GT3 mkI.

Funnily enough the stock 997.1 Carrera without any heavy options and a manual gearbox was one of the most fun non GTx cars to drive.

After a recent testdrive in a 996TT I got into the 964 and thought to myself: this is how Porsches should drive... they should be raw, scare the pants off of you every now and then and have some character.

I'll take a GT2RS if I could though

It is clear I'm trapped in the air-cooled age... but am looking for another Porsche to add to the stable and can't find anything worth spending my money on.

There is little hope the 991 will change my perception of that.

they would be out of business in a heartbeat these days if they sold a car like that.
