Default Added RS air-inlets and clear corners

Spent the day installing RS air-inlets and Clear corners. Thanks to ian89C4 for the installation thread he posted here on rennlist. The clear corners are Dansk purchased from Pelican and the air-inlets from Rennspeed.

What a coincidence...I've spend my Sunday doing exactly the same thing

I'll be happy if mine turn out as nice as yours.

Very nice. I usually prefer the amber corners with cashmere interior but against the black it really pops. Well done.

It's pretty cool that our Sunday projects were the same today:

For some reason, and corroborated by eeh PET, i thought RSs had a blank transparent plastic, not an intake en lieu of the fog lights.

Looks good. Any pics of where the airflow comes out? What's your assessment from doing the install of how well it will allow air to be directed onto the brakes? On the stock setup, the fin on the control arm that directs air to the brakes looks like it gets most of the air from under the car. I don't have a good feel for the airflow differences between these two setups.... thanks.

That's the main problem with this mod...it's just eye candy (for street driving), unless you get brave and start cutting....looks great though.

Here's a post from Bill Gregory's (RL Super Moderator) experiecnce with this mod (2004 thread!)
You have to cut a hole in the plastic wheel well liner for the hose to exit. In addition, on the oil cooler side, you cut a hole in a thin aluminum piece next to the wheel liner. On the A/C side, besides the wheel liner you cut a hole in an angled steel part of the a/c shield. Running the hose is very easy, too.

Unless you drive your 964 at the track, there's no reason to add brake cooling at the wheel well. If you do drive your 964 at the track, it's really one of the few ways to get additional air anywhere near the rotor, without chopping other parts of the chassis up to accomplish the same thing.

Here's an idea of what you cut(from Garrett376 - from the 964 DIY section)

True, but I cut holes in the bumper but not all the way to the brakes because upgrading to Big reds took away all the fading problems. But cutting holes in the bumper gives a lot more cool air to the oil cooler (and AC condenser as long it was still there) and this gives me a lower oil temp on track. So it's still worth it regardless of brake cooling.....and it looks good!
