Which model of 964 do these shocks belongs to?
Hi all,
The Shocks from the photos are fitted in my 964. They are mark with Bilstein brand. My mechanic said they are removed from another 964 some years ago, and he forget what model of 964 removed from. Anyone know are they 964 turbo or RS shocks?
The shocks and original spring is now fitted in my 964. I want to lowered it a bit. What do you think I replaced with H&R lowered spring without changing the shocks? The shocks are notice very "workable" on April last year.
thanks.

First, I'd be wary of used shocks. Shocks have rubber bits and oil that both degrade with time. Also, you don't know their history or potential abuse(?).
Second, if I didn't know the tech really well, I'd be a tiny bit worried about his memory. (Why couldn't HE tell you the model type they belonged to?)
(Frankly - if you were my brother - I'd advise [if possible] passing this by and saving your pennies for new replacements.)
But... if I were in the re-using mindset, I'd check all the embossed numbers on the shock bodies.
The part numbers will be among them.
Then, I'd Google up that part number to see what applications they had.
The same for the springs... though if that ID was painted on the springs this might (from the looks of things) be difficult.
Good luck, sir.

I cannot tell anything about the fronts in that picture, however the rears are fully-threaded coilovers; either RS, Cup or RSR shocks (valving is different on these).
