Hello Folks,

It's been a while since I've checked into this helpful community of 964 members. I have have had my '91 C2 for almost 10 years now and I am getting to the point where I need a complete set of new tires again.

I have been looking around and the choice of Porsche-approved tires on 16" (Design 90) wheels is really getting quite limited. (I actually don't think there are any left on the market.

Can anyone make any suggestions ? I live in sunny California and don't drive my 911 when it rains, so I am less interested in wet performance. I also don't track my car - but I am interested in something that will give me the best performance. My car was lowered/respringed to RS specs by Andial (when they were around).

I was thinking Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 which came up on the Tire Rack tire selector - but I don't know much about them. I previously used Michelin Pilot MXXX tires (N rated) - they are no longer available.

those are exactly the tires i would go with the re-11 ... they're better than PS2's

I have 17" MOMO wheels, and have ordered a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Ps2s (205/50 front, and 255/40 rear). N-spec.

There are tires out there for D90s. Not as many as the Cup 17 " wheels but they are out there, and some are decent tires.

And most of the tires, although not N rated, exceed the orignal tire specifications.

I have to give credit to Hankook. They outperform my Pilot Sports by a long shot.

unfortunately, I don't think the Ps2s come in the right size for 16" wheels...i checked on the michelin sight..

I have D90's and will have to make this decision soon. I have Kumho MX's now, but they're NLA. I see on Tirerack that BFG makes a g-Force Super Sport set for that size. I have run these tires on every car I have, and I like them a lot. Good performer, decent wear, good price. I'll prob either buy those or the Continentals.

Bridgestone RE760 is what I run on the back of my 91 C2, couldn't be happier. Priced right, also heard good things about the ContiExtremeContact DW.

I use Yokohama AD08's (16") and they are outstanding. I autocross in a "street tire" class now and they are much better than the older "R" compound tires, like the Kumho VictoRacer V700 that I used to use.

Anotherr happy owner of the Continental extreme contact DWS, they are comperable to the Michelin PS2, but are a lot cheaper.

Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 are a solid choiceand very affordable. I think they are what hawk runs on his car and I've had great experience with them on a number of other cars. Am organizing a set for my car in next few weeks.

I vote for the Bridgestone RE-11's. Best tire I have ever used. I currently am running the Dunlop Direzza star specs on my 964 because tire rack was out of the sizes I needed last year. The Dunlop's are good to but I liked the B-stones better. Front end grip is amazing with the b stones. If the money was in my budget for the summer I would buy a set now but I need to put it towards my KW coilovers and recaros.
