Default Cruise Control Misbehaving!

On a recent 100 mile journey, my cruise control worked for the first 50 miles but then stopped working all together for the balance of the trip. The next day, cruise works fine again.

Any ideas or guesses?

Thanks,
Dan.

There is a micro switch under the clutch pedal for the cruise control. On my car sometimes it seems the clutch pedal does not come high enough to allow the switch to turn off/on. i simply put my foot under the cluch pedal and lift a fraction higher and the cruise contral works fine.
One day I will adjust the switch but until then just try lifting the cluch pedal. if this is the problem it is an easy fix and costs nothing.

I've already adjusted that microswitch. That, unfortunately, is not the problem this time. It was, however, the problem last time.
