Default Is really necesary to semo-drop the engine for changing chain cover gaskets?

Hi, I thought that I will have to semi drop the engine removing the engine carrier, (elevating the engine with a jack), but now I saw that pic:

So is really necesary to do that or I can do it like in this pic. The mechanic of this workshop said in the website "Aunque parezca imposible se pueden retirar las tapas de distribución sin necesidad de bajar el motor, simplemente retirar escapes, sujecciones y sobre todo la chapa base del vano motor, que es la más complicada"

Which means that you can do it only removing the exhaust, and a plate..

So guyss! Please help!

The left side isn't a problem, its the right side that gets more complicated.
To get the right side cover off, there is a big bracket, the one that the AC
compressor is bolted to, that needs to come out. Before that can come out
the crank pulley needs to come off. Pic below, and more info here:

I did like the pic above but I didn't remove the bumper. Dont forget a jack to hold the rear of the engine, and you have to remove the rear engine carrier to get at the AC bracket. It's a bit complicated.

Good time to check/renew the engine mounts at the rear, and to check the integrity of the rear engine brace.

Default Have you tried replacing just the three grommets?

I replaced these three grommets, each is $1.25. It cut the chain cover gasket drip by 90% to just a little seep, with just a dot of oil on the ground every couple of days.

The right most nut is the easiest to get at (grommet still on in the picture), the other two, require cutting away some of the noise insulation and are in tight corners above the air distributor tube, but do-able with patience.
Best to do it with the oil removed from the engine, but not too bad if you are quick.
Hopefully I can postpone the full gasket job for a year or two. The old grommets were very firm. Just an idea.

If it were just the left side, it would be no problem. The right side was the big pain.
