Not too sure how I feel about the looks, but the quality of the interior was really nice. Performance was impressive, really nice to drive and FAST. Couldn't imagine how the turbo must be.

A friend of mine has a Panamera Turbo with the Porsche powerkit (540bhp) and it's fantastic. That 4S have to be a great car.

enough to make an old 928 guy jealous...of course rumors of a 2-door Panamera-based car abound

I'm baffled by some sentiments floating out there that the Panamera is an ugly car...Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear certainly thinks so. I think they're beautiful and clearly possess the classic Porsche styling. The Boxster, on the other hand....

When we had one in the office for a few weeks it only received positive comments from the public. It's only "car enthusiasts" and porsche-files that seem to have a problem with it. Ours was a Yachting Blue Turbo with the RS Spyder wheels and I thought it looked fantastic. Wickedly fast too.

Jeremy Clarkson hates all Porsche and Audi cars, and is not a good indication of whats cool. He owns a Gallardo convertible and previously a GT40 Mk2. The recent embarrassing and exaggerated driving of the RS5 was indication of that. The guy is an arse TBH.

The Panamera is a great car and perfect for the target customer.

politically correct: its appearance leaves much to be desired.

imho, of course.

I love it when Clarkson has a competition between his favored car on the show and a Porsche - either the track times end up on fire - or like with the Panamera - Maserati - I forgot the other - four door luxury car contest around the industrial park - you don't get to the see the Panamera even finish because you know it destroyed the others.

Can't say that I would buy one (not that I have the money) but I have driven one and it is a very impressive car. I think it was the missing tinge of burnt oil that turned me off in the end though =-)

I've noticed that side of him but jeez he's so funny...he carries that show. I can't even watch the American version...

There IS a 2 door version of the Panamera...its called the 911!

elbeee964 02-25-2011 09:00 AM

Sorry, but as Conchatta Ferrell found a husband, so too will Panameras find allure to owners.

IMHO it is the mole rat of Porsche's design legacy. IMHO.
Contestable? Name a less attractive (er... non-tractor) Porsche.

The tractor looks pretty good next to the Panamera.

I find myself staring at the 964 in that pic and frowning at the ugly-assed Panamera.

August West 02-25-2011 01:18 PM

I've found if you squint your eyes enough you probably couldn't tell the difference between the Panamera and the new Honda Crosstour. I still like the Panamera though.

It is a great car. Humpback does it no favors, but the performance is 'off the charts' ...
