Tires 7 & 9 x 17 ET 55 all around

Hello all,

What are the hot tire set-ups these days for Turbo wheels? Mostly aggressive street driving with 3-4 track days a year. I did a search but found oldish info. Tire technology is changing constantly. Will 225/45 fit well on the 7's? I assume 255/40 for the 9" rears are good. I have a lower ride Ht now, slightly higher than RS spec, so this is a consideration. With the ET 55 all around, I assume no spacers, but I'm not oppossed either. I probaly have 1.5-2 deg of neg camber.

Your thoughts and experience are most welcome. Many Thanks....

Hi Chris!! nice reading you...

I have exactly that size wheels and I have recently purchased Hankook V12 Evo tires in 255/40 x 17 for the rears, can´t really state my opinion because I haven´t done more than 100 miles with them, but those tires have got great reviews in magazine tests and so I am testing the brand, also helped my decision that they were 35% cheaper that the Yokohama´s they replaced:thumbup:

For the record my Yokohama´s rears lasted 14000 kms (8750 miles)

Thanks Henry :-)

What are you running on the fronts? How are you. Thanks for the feedback.

Ciao E,

Chris

For nearly r-compound grip with some wet weather capability, I think it would be tough to beat the Ventus R-S3 from Hankook. I'm running these, and they are REALLY good.

They might be too grippy/short lived for your application though. Good luck!

225/45/17 front 255/40/17 rear is what you want to run.
Hankook V12's are comparable to Toyo T1R's on track.
Got some RS3's for this coming DE season.
My buddy is running Dunlop Direzza star's and he loves them.
Nitto 01's are supposed to be awesome.
Good Luck

Ciao E,

Chris

In the front I have Yokohama´s Advan Sport with 12500 kms and plenty of life left, I am cautious in driving but had no problem with this mix for now.

Wow, the RS-3 looks very promising. Reviews are solid. This may be just what I'm looking for. The RA-1's were always my tire of choice for the 73 both street and track work. Sadly they do not make this tire in the appropriate 17" needed for the C2. I'm very impressed with the price of RS-3's @ a little over $500 for a full set (4) from Tire Rack. Nice.

Anyone else running these on a C2? Thanks.
