Hammer or 964-friendly scan-tool in Houston, TX area?
Any privateers out there with a hammer or 964-friendly scan-tool who might be willing to be bribed with cash, beer or other to allow me to swing by for the purposes of seeing the Airbag / Seatbelt light can be extinguished - or if the problem is persistent?
I'm located in Humble, TX - willing to drive just about anywhere in the metro area.
Just picked up this C2 Targa and PO 'claims' that he left something disconnected while doing the new front springs/dampers install. He having no hammer - just ignored the lights. I am assuming that this is more fiction than fact, so would like to check it out.

Yeah... I'm back. I miss my C4 (sold), but now have this C2 Targa... Somehow just like it was back in Chicago, I've managed to have more cars than garage spaces! The C2 is a total unknown - needs attention, but runs and drives. So either I've made a brilliant purchase or just a delayed financial catastrophy. If memory serves with these '90 P-Cars it is often both.
How's the cabrio there Hawk?

broke the B-pillar end of the summer last year, but still enjoying the suspension though. Might be time for tires end of this coming season. Welcome back!
if you were closer, I'd drive the scantool down for you. Tx is a little far though

Won't know until I first get the oil-level to 1qt low from full, when hot. Currently runs 1.5qts over-full when only warm... Thus there's a oil in excess rolling around making things generally drippy and smokey. I haven't even pulled the bottom cover to let me see the motor. I'm in no rush.
Also need to tidy up the shift linkage, replace the rear dampers and then drive for a while to discover the foibles. I suspect I'm in for an engine-out re-seal - but time will tell. First might end up being an engine-out/tins-off major cleaning to really get an idea of where le'drips are coming from.
However - she starts, runs. Has new front suspension. Good paint, decent interior. Only 1 light bulb-out. Possible have that clock-electronic issue given the seatbelt light and airbag light. Will check this weekend with the local Hammer-owner.
Got the insurance turned up today. Full coverage w/$500 deductable for $900/yr. Not too bad.

Thanks to William - scanned the Targa and all codes cleared with no re-occurance! I removed just about 3qts of oil so now instead of gushing due to over-filled, I get one drop hitting the ground when I park it. My belief is that is still excess oil in the system that will cease over time & usage. I also installed the rear-decklid shocks, and the rear dampers. Reset the spring perches all around and tidy'd up a few other things.
I think the verdict is - she's a gem, just needs a bit of polish&shine to get fully back to a good state.
Now - curiously, I'm only so/so on the Targa aspect. Having never owned a drop-top car before, and only having had a C4 Coupe - I didn't really know what I was getting into. I suppose time will tell if she will stay in the inventory, or if she's a flip/upgrade into a coupe again.
Perhaps I'll get used to the sound of everyone else's tires on the highway when cruising top-off...

On airplanes and drives, it's amazing how less fatiguing the end of the ride feels.
A helmet works, too. But not with cops.
