hi guys i just purchased my first porsche really a dream come true.it is a 1989 911 c4 red in color.so here is the question i live in alberta canada and see extreme fluctuations in weather from one day to another.currently the car is sitting at a shop getting the motor entirely rebuilt. the mechanic showed me some of the parts going in to it from arp bolt kits to new rings and gaskets to reground cams.he is going to be giving me a 1 year warranty on the engine and supplied me with the diagnostic tool.he has a reputable shop that works on ferrrari's,lambos,but has a passion for porsche as it is his own personal vehicle also. right now everything is disasssembled and out of car i have been reading some of the posts here about the dmf and some have suggested a luk flywheel. do i just bite the bullet and put in a luk fly flywheel now or send the dmf out to be reground and start over.i have no intentions of abusing the car as i love them just for the looks and pleasure of owning one so engine mods is not my priority right now. if i should replace where is the best place to get a luk flywheel for a reasonable price for the 89 c4. i was also considering installing drop spings by eibach any negative feed back about them as i only want the lowered looks not planning on racing the car?

no issues with flywheel on an 89. however, a replacement clutch costs twice as much as the later years.
I'm looking at green H&R springs vice the eibachs myself, but haven't heard bad comments about either choice.
Lots of threads on the springs including comparison of different rates.

Whereabouts in alberta are you (i'm thinking calgary as there aren't any reputable ferrari/lambo shops in edmonton).

While we are on the update track, "Raspberryroadster" sold his car and moved to the far east; NinetyOneC2' car is Slate Grey; Red Rooster, Geoff RIP, past on last year, maybe make him an honourable member.

I have H&R Greens and couldn't be happier. Car looks good, rides well and with Euro RS alighment handles great (very quick turn-in and neutral feel). I also have PS2s which probably contribute significantly to both ride comfort and turn-in feel.

actually i do live in edmonton.the car is being bought from elegant motors.as for pics only when i get possesion of it as the motor is being built for it now.i'm super stoked and can hardly contain my excitment of owning a car like this.

I am also new to my 90 c4, bought in nov drove from miami and put away the next week so my impressions are limited to a honeymoon. mine has h&r greens and bilstein hd's, rs sway bars and rs alignment, the ride is exactly what I was expecting, tight by not too harsh even after 30 hrs in 2 days. I am running 17's so the side walls give a little more than larger dia combos, not sure if i would daily drive a larger wheel/tire combo even though they ratchet up the look.earl

I am in Grande Prairie - you must have your car at Paul's shop (Eurasia) - great guy. He is doing an engine rebuild for me too.

Perhaps I'll see you at RaceCity in Calgary this summer if you take the car out to the track.
