Arrow UK Trackdays

***Please note that we have had to change the date to Sunday 24th July***

A couple of months ago I set about organizing a track day for 964 owners at this coming summer. It's now all set up:

Venue: Donington Park
Date: Sunday July 24th 2011 - new date
Organizer: BookaTrack
Price: £250 (discounted rate)
Format: Open pitlane
Instruction: Available at time of booking
Limit: 60 cars

To book a place use this link which will take you to the BookaTrack website:

Track day booking link

Click on the link for the day at Donington on July 10th to book your place - you will be taken to the logon screen. If you've used BookaTrack before carry on booking. If you're new to them use the link on the right side of the page to register (you'll have to go to your own e-mail to confirm registration before going back to complete your booking).

You can book instruction while booking your place. There's no need to book a garage as we will be given a free garage for every two cars booked on.

Note that the discounted rate arranged applies if you book and settle payment before the end of February. If you decide to settle payment later you might end up paying the normal rate of £295 or even lose your place.

I'm hoping that we can get at least twenty 964s there on the day and that most of the other cars there will be other Porsches (hence BookaTrack have labelled it as a Porsche event). So you can invite your non-964 owning friends too.

Thanks for the PM - I've booked it, including one instruction session.

I'll get my girlfriend to pay for it over the next couple of days (and decide which car to use).

Just had a look, looks great. Thank you for organising it. Am I right in assuming I will pass noise restrictions with my new cat-bypass and g-pipe setup?

'98dB Drive-By. Measured from track-side. 100dB Static. 0.5m and 45° from exhaust at ¾ maximum RPM. Static tests are only on vehicles failing the drive-by noise limit.'

Frank, as you see they don't do a static test at Donington unless you trip a trackside meter. Most of the time Porsches don't have a problem with a 98 db driveby. My own 964 has a cat bypass with normal primary and secondary mufflers and has no problem with the meters. Your G pipe will make you noisier than me but I think you'll still be OK. However, if you still have the normal silencer in your garage it might be sensible to put it on to be on the safe side.

I'm probably going to come along - thinking of getting rid of the 964 this year but this means at least I get to play with it on track if it does go!

Good to hear guys

We're already up to 17 including the provisional bookings. Aswell as regular 964s there's a nice number of 964RSs, a 964 cup and a Jurgen Altzen 964 turbo RSR that have signed up for the day.

Great to hear Pete If you have to use the new GT3 or bring both, we won't hold it against you

Is the Jurgen Altzen 964 turbo RSR the car with the MAT plate?

Yes Steve. Previously owned by Matt but sold to a chap called Karl about a year ago (via a dealer). Karl swapped his 996 GT2 for it. I've had some passenger laps in it and to say that it's a full on experience would be an understatement
