For those struggling with wheel widths & offsets, this might help ...

Just dropped on some 10ET40 wheels.
Following are the photos.
Tyres are 265 35 R18 Kuhmo Ecsta XS KU36.
Height in photos is at approx RS height - although I am planning to go an extra 10mm lower.
Camber is unknown although you can visibly see noticeable negative camber.
Clearance from top of tyre to fender is about 8 to 10mm.
Clearance to flattened oil pipe is about 8mm.
Clearance to suspension arm is about 8mm.
Springs are about 650lbs.

At RS height with the 650lb springs, I think the clearance of 8 to 10mm may not be sufficient over bumps or cornering, but with the inside fender lip folded to provide an extra 4mm, I think this would be ideal.

At my planned RS-10mm height, in addition to folding that inside fender lip, I expect I will need to fold out the guard about 3 to 5mm.

Note that some of the angles/positions are easily distorted depending upon the camera position, but I've tried to stay aligned with the car for the side and top-down photos.

BTW .. is all that toe-in on the rear correct?

Are you going to pull out / flare the fender lips?

Yes, I was always hoping & planning to adjust the fender lips. That way I can tweak the clearance to the nearest mm :)

So my conclusion is that the offset is perfect - particularly when I read a post by someone that had rubbing on the inside with 10ET43 (or could have been 10ET44 from memory) with a slightly under RS height and negative camber.

Sorry something seems wrong.

I use 10 ET 41 on my C2 with a 7mm spacer and as you can see from this borrowed picture although I have 2+ degrees of negative camber my tires are much further in than yours and I am using a 7mm spacer.

Is the ET41 with or without the spacer? Are you using 10ET34? That should be pushed out further than my example. I can recall seeing over 10 references that about 10ET44 or 10ET43 is correct for the rear, so my 10ET40 are positioned exactly where I expected.

If you think you are using 10ET34, I think your base measurement of ET41 is incorrect. Perhaps it is ET51 with the 7mm spacer?

If you mean it is 10ET48 with a 7mm spacer to give 10ET41, then perhaps you have 255 tyres or just a brand of tyre with a more rounded shoulder?

So you'll live with the sh*tty ride, fouled(or modified) fenders, loss of performance and increased risk of aquaplaning, bent rims, scraped bumpers?

I am not sure these will *increase* your enjoying the car.

Good question. I almost started a thread to ask that question. In the end, I tried studying the detailed close-up photos on tirerack and made a bit of a guess.

I dont understand your point.

Many of the road/track guys here are using 9.5" or 10" rear wheels with 255 or 265 or 275 tires. Mostly with ET43/44 but ET40 is only a few mm difference.

Can 3 or 4mm offset really change the set-up from an optimum track set-up to what you described?

My point is you're going far too large in terms of diameter and width.
Remember that 18" were not homologated for the car. And cramming so much tire under the fenders and then modifying geometry (neg camber) and bodywork to make them fit will do nothing for performance unless you have a track only car.

Any car that has rims protruding outside the fender lines is pushing it too far.

But that is only my point and I may be a bit cranky...

Understand .. that is reasonable :)

I will add some more photos when complete .. maybe the camera angles make it look slightly worse. The specs were borderline for me.
