Default Hmm, coil to distributor cap, what goes where?

So I just replaced the distributor cap and rotor on my 964. Quick question, which coil while goes where? The coil wires are labelled 1 and 2 however I think the person who installed the wires last installed the wrong coil wire on each coil. Based on the diagram on the engine distributor 1 is the lower one further to the left and distributor 2 is the higher one on the right. Does the front coil wire go on distributor one? These wires are throwing me off.

Thanks guys

Just curious, does it actually make a difference?

considering the plugs are absolutely symmetrical in the head, no, should make zero difference.

The computer sends out one signal that goes to the two ignition switches ,
those two ignition switches fire of the coils .
