I don't think they will add horse power - as noted earlier - However, the effect may be the same as I believe by the nature of the make up of the fabric it will decrease the weight of the car - if attached to the floor board properly there-by changing the HP to weight ratio for greater performance. Wait a minute though - where was the carpet made - Mid East or Asia
