Blacks, but I do have a set of blues in the garage that I will try at some point. I am told the trick combo is blue bottoms with black tops. Apparently this reduces the drone in the cabin, but provides stiffer support. Maybe I'll try that.

Best part about the Wevo's, other than the smart look it provides in the cabin, is that when the pillows wear out, just replace them ($45) I think. The hardware is good forever...

That's my set up. I thought I had a damaged lower Black pillow, so I ordered a set of Blue pillows as a potential reinforcement. When I went in to change the pillows, everything was fine...but with Blue pillows in hand, I had to try it.

Hayden, at Wevo, confirmed that it would be an acceptable configuration for a "street" car. I didn't notice a difference (from an all black pillows) as I've already removed the sound pad and have primary bypass.

Anyone with sagging mounts...get new mounts (whatever brand), it will really tighten up the handling!

hi
what size of gap would you consider as normal and what size would be
excessive ?
NB : no sign so far of vibration or engine movement in bends ...

Got them in from Pelican today. I ordered them 2 days ago, had no expectation of them being in by the weekend.

My old ones look like this:

I read somewhere, maybe above, that you should use an impact wrench trying to get the bottom nut off. I tried with a standard 3/8 drive and and extension.

Here's what happened. Could have been much worse.

Will be asking friends tomorrow if anyone has a small air compressor and an impact wrench.

Do you ever use thread releasing fluid? Usually makes light work of anything. I can't undo any reasonably torqued bolts exposed to 20 years of heat without it. Leave it soaking for a while and it would come off. (called Plusgas in the uk)

Did you put a jack under the motor and try to raise it before loosening the nuts?

Yeah, I did. Still that tough. Granted, it was from Harbor Freight, so not the best extension in the world.

Got them on. Went out and bought a 1/2 drive, deep 19mm socket and a 12" extension. Had to use half of my floor jack handle as a breaker bar. Once that was done, it was a 30 minute job. I'm amazed that the top bolts are only supposed to be torqued down to 17 foot pounds. I had hand tightened them down past that before I put the torque wrench on them.

The streets are wet today, so I can't report on handling, but there is no difference in drone in the cab. The shifting (I have a tip) seems smoother. Also, at idle, the car doen't vibrate as much. Will post pics of the old mounts later. The black rubber/plastic in their centers was cracked in a few places. That can't have been good.

These are the old ones once out. See the cracks in the black rubber/plastic.
