When I do the delete, don't I have another hole in the rear panel, where the output shaft goes down to the motor?

Yes, there will be a hole in the plastic piece. What I did, as you can see in the picture I posted, was to get a piece of leather from our local "town cobbler" as similar as what's in there and glue it onto the plastic piece, thereby cover up the hole.

Ah okay, that sounds good.
So I will try to find me a spare one to get it done.
Maybe not so simple due to my blue interiour.

I also opted for the $ 1.50 solution, refused to pay approx. $ 90 for the "official" solution:
