Default Front lid release handle TRIM PIECE
On the front lid release handle is a large black plasitc trimpiece that also holds the carpeting there.
How is it held to the handle mechanism???

Mine is totally free.

It's bolted to the handle with 2 allen bolts.

yepp, they're M6 (6 mm) and 21 mm long.
