Smile My Official "Hello"

Howdy peeps! Thought I'd officially introduce myself, even though I'm a multi-time Porsche owner and an oft lurker on this board. I've recently purchase my first 964, a Red Velvet Metallic 1990 C4. Sadly, it has been a bit of painful process, but that's all in the past and now, save for a few fixes yet (and service bills to pay off!), it's time to enjoy the new car. My initial goal for this 156k miler was to use it as a fun car, with Julie and I both using our Subies as daily drivers. However, now that I've invested a bit more than initially planned, the C4 may be called into regular duty, if not right away then in the near future. Regardless, I'm looking forward to the new adventure of 964 ownership.

As is custom, here are some photos taken just last night after a 120 mile drive and fresh wash....

Looks great...and I love the color! From the pictures, it looks like it just came off the factory floor. I like the stock look.

Thanks Travis, you too! Sorry we didn't catch you Saturday, we were too focused on all the cars to try to catch people walking around!

Thanks, yes very original. It does have a lump from a '93 964, but otherwise quite stock. I don't have a lot of plans for mods, but surely it won't stay perfectly stock for too long.

Looks like a Minter. Nice one. Feel like i've known you for years even though we've never met or ever spoke. How weird is that. Welcome to 964 ownership. Now you should get it lowered!
Cheers

Welcome! I had been following your post purchase repair threads. Glad to see the car is home and being driven.

Do you need help with ideas on mods? We are good at that.

That color looks stunning in the evening light.

Are those stickers, that spell out Porsche, on the rear light bar? Interesting.

Thanks, but it's far from a minter. Still, cleans up nice and now I have no fear driving it anywhere.

Thanks! Yeah, I've been around for some time. Never really felt I could "afford" a 964. (Still can't, FWIW ) But this one came up and I just thought..."it's time".

Thanks! It is definitely a beautiful color. And I love how it changes depending on the light. Kinda rushed the photos, but still pretty pleased how they turned out. Now to get some video....

Yeah, this guy had stickers galore all over the car. I'm still in the process of removing them. Those will be be removed, as they're just black tape he cut out to the shape of the letters, then put on the lense.

Check out what he had on the car when I bought it...

Thank you and all of you who followed (and especially helped out with) my other threads on the car pre-purchase. My mood is definitely on the upswing again about the car. Drove it to work today and am enjoying it (other than the 21 y/o AC vs SW Ohio summer humiditiy!).

Oh I welcome any and all ideas! I had to spend a bit more than I wanted on initial service and repairs, but for sure I'll be getting the itch for mods before too long. Right now the only plans are to lower to Euro height (prob next Spring) and put on some Boxster or 996 C4 17" wheels. (I really don't want to go bigger...is that wrong?) Right now I really can't imagine any other mod I'd want. But like I said...I welcome any and all ideas!
