So happy to finally have P-car content...

Me and the honey took the 964 up Mt. Saint Helens this Saturday. I have lived here for nearly 20 years, and I have never ventured up there. For those not in N/A, this was the big volcano that went off about 30 years ago and scared the hell out of everyone as the top 1/3 pretty much disappeared in a big blast/mudflow. Pretty amazing.

The Ape Caves are neato (deep, and c-c-c-old! - 42 degrees on a 98 deg day) and the views of the mountain are stunning. It's like being near the edge of the world, with the mountain itself, and evidence of lava flows, and all kinds of upheaval.

Careful on the roads though... they're great, with curves and straights, but out of the blue, there are dips across the entire road that are nearly invisible. I banged the nose of the car pretty hard into one going about 50... wham!.. No damage but pretty scary.

A few pics...

After getting my AC converted from R12 to R132b last week, I was happy to just cruise around town with the windows up doing errands with my daughter. I also replaced a turn signal bulb!

Washed the car and gave it a fresh coat of wax ready for next weekends local supercar meet and drive out.

Here's a pic from last Saturday's 458 unveiling (a few more pics from the day can be found at: http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p190/Jim_Howley/E25/)

and a bunch of us before our Sunday morning tunnel run
