Has it had paintwork already, perhaps? Maybe it was a repaint that didn't hold up well? If it is that faded, I would think the interior would be wasted too, from UV.

be extra careful when a third party is involved selling the car for an owner claiming repairs without receipts. make sure receipts are available on major repairs.

Agree with many here about the work which may or may not have been done. I had a 77' Targa and I did love the top coming off, but with that said I would not give up my 91' with sunroof for the Targa top. The 77 was a daily driver in Montana for me and now in Washington state my 91 is my daily driver.
