Default Total Power Loss on Free ways

Hello folks,

I have had a unique experience lately with my '91 C2 Targa. When coasting with the gas pedal off on free way in a 5th gear, the car sometimes loses total power as if it has no gas or no spark. So I get slight panic and start pressing gas pedal but the shows no response. It always gets back to normal, say in 3 sec. So it is no biggie so far but may end up danger depending on the situations. What causes this symptom? And how can I straighten it before I get rear-ended?
Please advise.
Thanks,

RK

When the DME sees a closed throttle (via the 'closed throttle' microswitch aka idle speed microswitch) and engine rpms greater than ~1200 (IIRC), it senses deceleration and shuts off power to the injectors.
Apparently your injectors are not powering up as they should once you come back on throttle.

You can start by checking the operation of the closed throttle/idle speed microswitch.

Yep, check the microswitch.
Durametric will show the switch's status in real time.
