94' 964 C2
Was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if there were any significant updates to the 964 in the final year of production (1994). I'm referring specifically to the previous productions from 1990 - 1993.
I'm looking currently at a 94' C2 and was curious whether these cars command a premium given their lower numbers (transition year to the 993), or as a result of some desirable technical revisions. Appreciate the wealth of info you guys provide. |
as i recall from "adrian's book" (not with me now) 94 edition was unchanged .....except for the intro of some special models (speedster for example).
production of the 964 was stopped in 93 and in most of ROW (except for N.Amer) in 1994 the 993 was introduced.....N.Amer was 1 yr. later for example here is 94 for sale in tokyo http://www.carsensor.net/usedcar/det...898/index.html which is clearly next series..... imo n.amer 964 94/93 same car.....and i think most of the enhancements in the 964 series (seals, clutch) took place in 1st 2 yrs of production |
1994/964
Hi,
According to Adrian's book, the two model changes for 1994 were : 1) Graphite composite head gasket replaced with steel version; 2) RS America fitted with rear seats. As is sometimes the case with Porsche, there are "exceptions". I know of at least one 1994 RSA, delivered to its original owner, without rear seats. The original owner had not requested a rear seat delete. I have a (USA) C2, manual coupe - one of 200, 1994 "R" series. Regards ~ |
This was a US delivery so based on Adrian's spreadsheet it would fall within the final 200 units for MY 94. How do I determine if it is a "R" series?
I see an RS in the VIN. |
The "R" prior to the "S" in the VIN indicates it is a 1994 MY.
