RSA is Home!

The RSA just arrived back in the US. It's been a great 1.5 years driving it around Europe. Pick-up in Dublin:

Nice looking RSA! I'm sure it was fun driving around Europe in it.

Thanks - it was a great experience!

First off, I would only ship in a container (not roro) and then it's all a matter of how the car is strapped into the container so the sensitivity has to be with your originating agent. When I purchased the car in LA 2 years ago and shipped it to Ireland it took the better part of 2 months to make it all the way across as the container went from ship to ship. At that time I was using Hapag Lloyd and had no problems except for a broken hood release lever. The car was tied down on all 4 wheels and there were wooden blocks to limit front/aft and sideways movements.

This time round, I had to store some household goods in the front of the car and that went ok, except that the car was only strapped down with the front left and right rear wheel - guess what? The car moved sideways in the container. It didn't move enough to hit anything but I was certainly not impressed. Shipping was a lot quicker this time as the only transition point was Liverpool and then direct NY. No problem with customs, EPA, DOT as it is a US car. Still need to register it and get the NJ state inspection done.

I will PM you the name of my shipping agent.
