Default What's with all the P-Cars in Northern Indiana?

I'm on my way to Chicago right now from South Bend (not in my 964) and, in the last 45 minutes, I've seen at least 20 P-cars going east on the 80/90 toll road. Looks like they're going to a race, several of them had numbers taped on.

I've seen 6 or 7 boxsters, 2 caymans, 4 914's (2 on trailers), a 993 and several 996/997's. No 964's yet, but I'm still driving, so maybe.

What event am I missing?

I'd say they are cars going home from the Porsche Parade in St. Charles, IL. The numbers were for various events held over the week. I think there was a track event at Autobahn yesterday.

At least another 10 since the last post. Plus, a red 964 coupe just south of Hammond on the toll road.

Chicago's PCA had an event at Tire Rack in South Bend and I was in Chicago. On the way back to the South Bend area today, I saw all kinds of nice rides. I saw a Guards Red RSA, several turbos of the 993 and 996 variety, a couple of Ferrari's, an Aston Martin and a couple of Maserati's. Several of them had their race stickers on.

More than likely Parade attendees heading home. Most left on Sunday morning. If the cars had three digit white numbers, that was their Parade entry number. Necessary for concours, rally and autocross.
