Battery dead...need advice
So the battery appears to be dead and won't even take a charge.
In fact the charger doesn't even start which, according to the instructions, means the battery is completely gonners.
This seems strange to me as the car has often been used in two-week intervals and never had a problem starting. Seems strange that the battery is so far gone that the charger shows an error. I even bought a second identical charger to ensure it wasn't the charger...same result.
What's the best course of action? Just buy a new battery and drop it in?
Thank you in advance of reply.

You will need a battery to power up the system so you can find the drain; if the battery is completely shot, you will need a new one anyway.
I would have the battery checked first, then go from there. When you get power back into the car, check the usual culprits, i.e. door/glove box/engine lid/trunk lid (hood) switches to see if they are all working.
Let us know what you find.
