Default Difficult Thermostat release

Hi Guys,

I've been struggling trying to remove my thermostat in my spare time have come to a point where I have a couple of options and I'm in need of some advice please.

The thermostat is all of apart from one bolt attached to part 46 on PET (they were all very difficult to remove). I have a replacement thermostat to install, though I can't manage to remove this bolt with the tools I have.

As far as I can tell I have two options and would like to know what you think is the best next step:

1) Invest in some new tools to get more leverage on the bolt, but at the risk of damaging the thread on the pipe hence replacing the pipe also.

2) Replace the whole pipe as its 20 years old and chalk it down to ongoing maintenance.

What's your thoughts and do you have any suggestions with regards to specialist tools?

Cheers

Well, I went for option 1... Broke the pipe trying to release it!

20 year old pipes really do weld on tight... thats going to be expensive lol!
