Selling my 964 Turbo on www.mobile.de..... A lot of people show their interest. Got this e-mail.....a bit smelly what do you think?

Thanks for the mail i know you will be a honest person in this transaction. I am okay with the car and i am from UK but the car would be going to Spain. I want you to know that i will entrust you with the shipping money which is just 1200EUR and it will be added to the money that would be transferred into your account the reason for this is because the shipping company accept cash only and i am out of the country right now for business trip.

So i will like you to get back with this information so that i can forward it to my bank to transfer the money into your account.

My bank made me to know that they would send you a confirmation mail to you through your email so after you have gotten the confirmation from my bank. The money will take just 48hours to cleared into your account and before that 48hours. You have to provide a proof to my bank that if you get the money you will not run away.

The shipping company also made me to know that i have to register the pick-up before they can come for the pick-up and you have to sign a form that would be send to you so you can have it filled , it would be scanned and send to you and you can send it back to the shipping company through there email.

That registration form is would confirm that they are coming for the pick up of the car in your country but you have to pay 300EUR to the shipping company as soon as you get the confirmation email from my bank stating that the money has been deducted from my account and when the shipping company comes to your house for the pick-up you would give them the balance of 900EUR okay.

The money would be transferred into your account before the shipping company come for the pick up of the item. When the bank as get the transfer done they would send you a confirmation email that the money as been transferred but you will not get the money in your account until you send the 300EUR to the shipping company details and provide the information to my bank before the money can be available in your account.

So i hope you understand all what i have said and if you have any question about that please let me know as soon as possible.

Its a scam , 100% , call your local fraud investigators . Ask them to help put these people out of "business" .
Or ask the people who wish to "buy" to send you what ever they are going to send you , and then do nothing just sit on the "payment" , string them along .

Speaking as a person who has experienced fraud on eBay, oh yeah.

As an eBay newbie several years back, I was looking at used laptop computers and found the one I wanted at a "price too good to be true". The hook they used on me was that the lister required prior approval of less-than-5-time purchasers. You had to request prior apporval to buy by sending them an email. Seemed harmless at the time.

Once they had my email address and eBay account name, I noticed that I stopped receiving my usual quantity of mail, except for one, thankfully. A do-good hacker, who had previously been defrauded by this lister, hacked into the fraud's email account and automatically attached a warning alert email that was sent out with all the fraud artist's outgoing email . He alerted me to close/change my eBay account and contact eBay. If it had not been for this hacker, i'm sure I would have had a HUGE mess on my hands.

eBay was very responsive. They spent about 2 1/2 hours on the phone with me discovering that the fraud had hacked into my email account and directed all of my mail to be sent directly to the trash, where I wouldn't notice any warnings. The fraud also began listing items for sale under my eBay account. Suddenly I was selling a red motorcycle I had never seen before. I presume it was a continuation of the scam I had fallen for, and they "dominoed" the scams back to back, collecting payments and leaving the unwitting "seller" with the mess.

It was really scary to realize what a savy computer genius could do. Later, when I told the story to my stepson, who is one of those geniuses, he told me how he could hack into my email if he wanted, even past the secure password, read all my email and modify my account as if he were the owner. Made me realize that if I was going to cheat on his Mom, don't do it online!

Thanks for the heads up with the attack you discovered. Spreading the word is the best way to fight fraud.

Sounds like the finance minister of Nigeria attempting to purchase your car.

this is typical fraud ... Here in the US, every time I list something in the classifieds on Craigstlist, I get one of these emails. They typically follow the same format.

- I'll pay exrta
- I'm out of town
- give me your info
- shipping company will pick up item
- you cover some costs up front
- Bad English grammar

Just play along ... give them an address to an abandoned building, keep telling them you are trying to transfer the money with no success ... be creative ...

Sad thing is, those guys wouldn't be still pulling that crap if it still didn't work once in a while. Somewhere out there right now, some old lady is sending her life savings to a scammer.
