Default Another Oil Question

I have a 93 C2, and I have read that in 1993 the factory started to use Mobile 1 synthetic oil in the cars. I have owned my car now for 1 year and did an oil change with "regular" oil, and I have not had any oil leaks so far. What is everyone's thought about switching to synthetic oil? Will I start seeing leaks now with the thinner oil? Do our cars need conventional oils (Bradpenn) to function better? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you everyone for your help. I have searched/read the many posts on this site in regards to this issue. Wellcraft, I don't have any prior records of oil changes done, except for when I had it done last year when I bought the car. I believe that it was done with conventional oil.
