Default Mille Miglia 2010

A bit OT maybe but as every year we had another fantastic day today watching the mille miglia drive through southern tuscany. I thought some of you may appreciate a few (ok lots of) pics.

Great! We must meet up if you get a chance and that damn vulcanoe stops creating havoc. You can find all my contact details and a map to where I am by clicking on the link in my signature. Will you be following the giro or just seeing some stages in the area?

Staying in Volterra on Friday night and watching the stage on Saturday, might go and see the start in Chianciano Terme but thats about it, don't want to drag my 3 year old around that much. We'll be spending the rest of the time in a place we go to just outside Colle Val d'elsa.

(Just so there's some 964 content to my post )
My 964 will be in getting a load of work done while I'm away (suspension overhaul, oil pipes, wheel bearings etc.) So will be looking forward to getting back to try it out.

WOW This IS on my bucket list! I have a friend who has driven this many times as he is from Italy originally. Drives Siata's mostly. For me this year is my first Rolex Monterey Historics and then maybe this event? Thanks for the pics.

If you decide to go to Chianciano look me up I'm on the way. I've just bottled my wines from 2007 if you're up for a glass or two

oh and the 964 will be there also...

Thank you all for the kind words I'm sure that anyone who has witnessed these cars driving on open roads would have to agree it is a fascinating and unique experience. Sorry i didn't get any pics of the alfas and bugattis from the '20's and '30's but i was a bit late so i crossed them as they were driving down from radicofani and i was driving up to it...

A few years back was travelling between montepulciano and montalcino and found myself travelling on the roads with these cars! Truly memorable to see these amazing machines roar through the italian scapes. Also stopped to hang out with no less than 9 mclaren SLRs parked on the side of the road being serviced by a factory tech. Stunning pics and farm!
