should i trade my 964 US Cup car for a 997 RS.1

I used to think that the only thing I'd swap my Euro Cup for was a 997 GT3 RS - I changed my mind and now wouldn't swap it for anything, just wait until I could afford something else as well!

FWIW, I had my 964 RSA for sale, but have decided to keep it. Both my 6-Cup and RSA are just so damn fun to drive, I can't see only having 1 track car. Granted, I realize the RSA is not even remotely close to the 964 US Cup you own, but the driving experience is phenomenal compared to the modern car.
Anyway, good luck with your decision. I would do whatever it would take to keep the 964 and acquire the 7-RS. I still have regrets selling my 964 Euro Cup....

I am new to 964 ownership having just bought a C4 several weeks ago. I have long lusted for a 964 US cup car after first seeing one at the Christies Monterey auction several years ago. I couldn't justify adding a 6 figure car to the other 2 early 911s (that I won't sell) so I went with a standard 964 I can lightly modify and have fun with on a more realistic budget.
As others have said the US cup cars will most likely hold their value at least and probably appreciate over time. Aside from that they look great and also perform very well on the track. I will also side with those that say, 'hang on to it'.

If you have a pristine andial cup, I would definitely keep her. In less than 5 years you'll be able to buy 2 997.1 RS for the price of your cup and so on. Every body thought the .1 RS was the bomb and be the next 73 RS but guess what, the 997.2 RS kills it and now everybody wants that one.

Hi all - struggling here - have a pristine 964 andial cup car and debating whether to trade in for a 997.1 RS - do a few track days and then mostly road - always fancied the RS in white!!
debated keeping the 964 (as so rare and great to drive!) and pushing myself to get the RS but wife not too happy with that scenario ! (maybe flowers on sunday will do the trick!!)
would love your thoughts !

I did the somewhat the reverse of what you are contemplating. I went from a white GT3RS 997.1 to a 964 RSA. Spent close to $50K getting the 964 the way I wanted it for the street and track. The 964 is a driver's car. There is no technology that is masking your driving capabilities. I did not feel as connected to the track with the GT3RS. Lost a little on the exchange, but I am glad I made the move.
