Changing the center reflector.
I've saw a few cars with a blacked out panel instead of the center reflector.
Does that mean that they no longer have reverse lights? Or is it possible to shift that to the sides?
Thinking of doing that to my car as the reflector in the mid has faded out (already bought new L and R lights)

Removing the center panel means you'll have to find a creative solution as to were to put the reverse lights. Most of the cars I've seen with out the center reflector don't have reverse lights, some U.S. States must have pretty relaxed vehicle inspections laws I guess? (My state also... my lights are blacked-out!)
Watch out, your new corner lights will look faded in no time (especially in Brunei!)... I'd cover the lenses with a vinyl wrap that also offers some UV protection.
If you want a black center reflector, but want to keep the reverse lights functional, try some black vinyl wrap. Easy to peel off if you don't like it...
Here's info. on a very popular vinyl kit:

Here's a link to my blacked-out light project:

Keep in mind the black vinyl I bought still transmits 93% of the light. In the months since I've installed the vinyl I've had a lot of cops follow me and they haven't been concerned at all.

Thanks for that Jetta. Is your center panel changed as well? it doesn't have the PORSCHE marks for the mid. Or is it just covered up in the wrap?
I love the looks of the rear.
Btw, can you re-link the exact one on eBay that you got?
I wanna do it on my black car!

Thanks Wolv,
Everything is covered with vinyl. In bright light you can still see the color of all of the lenses and the PORSCHE logo also... these digital pics make everything look darker than they really are.

wolv,
I've been waiting to see black vinyl tint on a black 964...looks mean! You really needed to cover that center light, that's the definition of fading right there.
More pictures please!
