OBC plug in an '89 C4?
Yes I did a search....
I have the opportunity to acquire an OBC revcounter and command stalk for a very good price.
I took mine out and could not find the 2nd connector, that would fit the OBC unit.
Does anyone know for sure whether the wiring shoud have it in '89 (june build date), and where I should be looking for it?
Here is what I have in the car now:

Hmm, somewhere on the wires behind "normal" rev counter. It's a big connector, about 4-5 cm long. Take care - you need a specific OBC (part number depends on MY, options, such as bigger tank etc.). Take a look in PET - it's very helpful.

ETA: it's a different shape of plug compared to a normal tach (thought I'd best add this in case you haven't seen the back of the OBC tach you're getting).

My '90 C4 had the connector, right there next to the stock Tach connector. The stalk connector was there too, but it was lower, tie-wrapped to the steering column.

Three Wheelin'
Because the 1989 car was a little bit "special" is there a chance that the all-encompassing looms may only have been fitted on the 1990 and onwards cars??
I have an '89 and I must admit I have never looked for the OBC connector but it doesn't seem unreasonable that if the factory hadn't envisaged internal spoiler switches and dual mass flywheels - or, perhaps, even 2 wheel drive - it may be they hadn't foreseen OBCs either.

Dave, that is (sadly) my hunch. I was kind of expecting someone here to tell me they fitted the OBC to an '89 C4.
I will not splice into the loom, far too risky. I guess I'll find other upgrades to keep me busy.
