Default What is the best way to clean the oil tank?

My oil tank is out of the car.
I'd like to clean the inside.
I can seal the holes.
Then what should I use to clean out out?
Gasoline?
Kerosine?
Acetone?

Thanks advance,
Dave

Ultrasonically. That gets all the metallic debris that settles at the side and bottom all out.

Ultra sonic will not work on the inside of the tank unless the put the transducer inside the oil tank or if you mounted the transducer right on the oil tank itself . The ultrasonic waves do not go through metal . The cleaning micro bubbles only form on surfaces in line sight of the transducer .

I send the tanks to an outfit that does that and they come back cleaner that I can ever get them in the dedicated parts washer.

Its a very critical step in the engine rebuilding process.

I ran and repaired ultra sonic tanks , big ones . I have read up on how they work , what they will and will not do .
The place you send it to must be doing more than just dropping it into an ultra sonic tank .
