Default 964 - staying inside the lines

Ever wonder exactly how much bigger/smaller a 964 is than other 911 models?

Below are some pictures I took of an interesting display at the Porsche Museum last year. The wall below is marked with outlines of different generation 911s. The evolution is projected on the wall, each car getting about 10 seconds. I must have watched it go through 10 full rotations.

Facinating! Something to be said about added bulk to haul around (other than waistlines).
The Porsche.com screensaver provides a different ILLUSION when all 911 are fit within the same wheel base.

COOL!

Thanks for sharing that. Looks like our 964's are low riders.

Thanks for sharing, Udo, that is really interesting. One of the things I like best about my 964 is how small and it seems when I'm driving it. Not much unnecessary space.

The 997 looks MASSIVE! They look to have used a Rubystone Red (pink) RS to represent the 964........very cool.

Thanks!

Why does a 993 appear so much taller than a 964? I didn't think that aspect didn't changed between the models?
I love seeing my 964 lined up against modern cars. It looks tiny, but still has plenty of room inside.

Indeed, I was a little surprised about that, too.

...Three (maybe four) of the 911 types shown should have exactly the same shape & size door silhouettes - if done to scale.
(Lew-seeee - you got sum 'splaining ta do!)

Thanks for the great photog effort!

An enterprising type among us might make a dissolving animated gif from these images... ya know?... Just saying.
