Default Clear corners...

Amazing how such a small mod can clean the looks up so much! Call me crazy, but I actually like the black bumperettes with the clear signals...

Sorry, I prefer the ambers with the blue!

There seems to be a slow trend of people returning to ambers over here in the UK (provided the car came with them originally). I think ambers set off certain colours such as dark blues, silver, grey and white. Ambers actually make the classic 964 stand out these days against the dull mono coloured lights of modern cars.

It comes down to personal taste I guess, it would be boring if we all liked the same.

its personal preference....probably most posts here i've seen support going clears, actually i prefer original ambers for my car.

small suggestion....you might consider better "picture sharing" arrangement, like
www.photobucket.com

(use image - cut and paste - to your message.......gives far better results

eg.

To me, clear corners make the lights look even bigger than they are and on a 20 year old car that looks a bit dated... plus is it a turn signal or another fog light?

Really it all depends on the color of the car and what "look" you want to acheive? Clears look great on a white car, it helps the lights blend-in better to the bumper design.

I prefer amber... but right now, black wrapped vinyl (93% visible) works for me!
I'd love to see a black car with black vinyl on both fog lights and tail lights... would look very sinister! An black wheels also...

Funny, I'm half and half. I've got clear corners on my black 964, but with amber bulbs, so they give off a sort of soft amber look. I originally planned on only running the amber bulbs until I picked up a set of clear bulbs that light up amber, but I've actually grown to love the look.

Thanks for the opinions guys. One of my favorite aspects of this board is everyone's willingness to chip in and share their $0.02.

I am running the stealth bulbs that appear silver but light up amber. For now, I am really enjoying the look but I'll keep my amber signals in case I ever decide to switch back...

I am a purist at heart and don't plan on doing any further exterior mods (except maybe Cup I, Fiske or BBS wheels at some point). I am even planning on keeping the flag mirrors.

Raspberryroadster - Thanks for the tip about photobucket. I will look into that next time I am going to post pictures.

911Jetta - Is that a Noble next to you in the picture? I just saw Clarkson test the new Noble M600 on Top Gear and I was quite impressed! Never seen one in person though...hopefully some day!

Kyle,
You are very gracious in your response. In re-reading my post, I realized I didn't even mention that your corner lights look great. It was in my head, but I forgot to respond to that (the reason the thread was started in the first place). They do look great, and most important, you like them! I'm also a bumperette fan!

Regarding the Noble. Very cool car (and driver), but what surprised me the most is how well the 964 held its ground. The group that day did over 200 miles of spirited mountain driving and never once was my car lacking. It felt so solid and tight. One reason our cars are so fast is that they car so narrow and you can see the wings so that you can place the car with milimeter precision... the Noble is very low and WIDE. To see more of the Noble, checkout this video... note that the Noble is only slightly pulling on me in the straights!

Your car sounds great in the video, 911Jetta - what exhaust is on it? Primary bypass?

Thanks GoKart.

Exterior noise mods: Primary bypass, drilled airbox (which actually makes a bit of a difference), and engine tray removed.

Interior noise mods: Wevo motor mounts, engine sound pad removed
